With Victor Boniface reportedly close to leaving Bayer Leverkusen for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, the German champions are looking to bring in a replacement.

According to Sky Germany, Brighton & Hove Albion's Evan Ferguson has emerged as a top candidate to fill the void the Nigerian striker would leave.

The report claims that Brighton have been made aware of Die Werkself's interest, but are yet to make a decision on whether to let the 20-year-old go before the end of the transfer window.

The likes of Bournemouth, Everton, Tottenham and West Ham are also said to be interested in Ferguson, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

Ferguson has slipped down the pecking order at Brighton this season, making 14 appearances and scoring once.

In total, the Ireland international has found the net 17 times in 79 appearances for the Premier League side.
