Bayern Munich appear to be closing in on an agreement with Alphonso Davies on a new contract beyond 2025.

According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the Canadian international is now "on the verge" of signing a long-term extension with the Bavarians.

Both Sky and Bild report that Davies' agent, Nick Huoseh, is travelling to Munich this week for crucial talks on the left-back's future, with Bayern bosses optimistic that an agreement can be reached.

Davies was initially reported to be demanding €20 million a year, but the parties could now potentially agree on a deal worth €15 million annually.

According to Sport Bild, Davies' agent has previously tried to negotiate a release clause of €150 million for his client. It's possible that this will be discussed again at the upcoming meeting.
