Following reports that Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester City have agreed a deal for Omar Marmoush, the Egyptian striker was left out of the Bundesliga side's clash with Borussia Dortmund on Friday.

And speaking to DAZN before the game, Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche revealed that a deal is close to completion.

"It looks like Omar is going to Manchester City. The probability is high," said Krösche.

"He has worked for it. Manchester City is a big step. That's what we always say: when players develop faster than the club, we give them the opportunity to take the next step if the conditions are right," Krösche added.

The Frankfurt boss went on to point out that Marmoush's winter exit was not actually planned.

“It's normal for an important player like Omar to attract interest, but it wasn't planned that it would become so concrete. But it's part of the business.”

According to reports, Manchester City will pay €75 million, with an additional €5 million in bonuses included in the deal.

Marmoush is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester City and earn an annual salary of €16 million. In Frankfurt, his salary is estimated at €2 million per year.
