SC Freiburg are working hard behind the scenes to sign Cyriaque Irie from ESTAC Troyes, FussballTransfers has reported.

Apparently only a few minor details remain to be ironed out between the two clubs and the player.

Irie could cost a fee up to €15million – immediately making him the Breisgauers’ record transfer signing.

Currently, that title is held by Baptiste Santamaria who arrived for €10million from SCO Angers in 2020.

The Burkina Faso U20 international has also attracted interest from RC Lens, Brentford and Leicester City; but Freiburg remain in pole position.

Similar to Ritsu Doan, Irie is a left-footed player on the right wing who has registered 6 goals in 27 outings at Ligue 2 side Troyes.
