Relegation-threatened Bundesliga club Holstein Kiel have agreed a contract extension with head coach Marcel Rapp.

The 45-year-old, who led the club to promotion last season, has extended his deal by a further two years until 2028.

"Marcel Rapp has been working very successfully at Holstein Kiel for three and a half years now," said Holstein Kiel's managing director for sport, Carsten Wehlmann.

"He has a clear vision of football, is extremely meticulous and fully identifies with the path we have been following here for many years. His motivation is to continuously develop the team together with his coaching staff.

“We are fully convinced that he is the right coach for KSV and that he will steer the club through calm and stormy times with determination and a clear plan.”

Holstein Kiel are bottom of the Bundesliga table with 17 points from 27 games.
