Two important Leverkusen players are set to make their comeback in the next two games: Edmond Tapsoba and Florian Wirtz are (almost) ready to play again!

While Tapsoba could even make his return from a thigh injury this weekend against Heidenheim, Wirtz will most likely be available again when Leverkusen face Union Berlin.

Especially Wirtz was immensely missed in Leverkusen's most important phase of the season: the playmaker missed the return leg in the Champions League against Bayern (0-2 loss) and the DFB-Pokal semifinal loss against Bielefeld, too.

Many experts have acknowledged Wirtz's absence as a big reason for their dip in form in the recent weeks - he will now be eager to help Leverkusen make a final attempt to snatch the Bundesliga title away from Bayern Munich.

After recovering from an inner ligament injury in his ankle, Wirtz was only able to partially train with the team this week. Xabi Alonso thinks a return against Union Berlin next week is ‘likely’.
