Bayern Munich will make a late decision on Manuel Neuer's availability for Friday night's Bundesliga match against Augsburg.

The veteran goalkeeper was forced to pull out of training on Wednesday with a rib problem and, as head coach Vincent Kompany revealed at Thursday's press conference, it's uncertain whether he'll be fit in time for the game.

If Neuer is unavailable, Daniel Peretz will deputise as Sven Ulreich will miss the game for personal reasons.

“Manuel Neuer has a twinge in the rib area. We have to wait and see and hope he can play tomorrow. We expect he'll be okay. If not, Daniel Peretz will play tomorrow. He's done very well with the national team Sven Ulreich is currently unavailable for personal reasons," said Kompany.

Mathys Tel and Joao Palhinha will both miss out after picking up injuries on international duty.

Hiroki Ito, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Josip Stanisic remain sidelined as well.

“Our confidence remains with this squad that we will get the results,” stressed Kompany.
