Bayern Munich confirmed on Thursday that Alphonso Davies is out for "the time being" after suffering a torn muscle fibre in Wednesday's 3-0 defeat at Feyenoord.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Vincent Kompany confirmed Davies' absence for the upcoming game against Freiburg, but wouldn't go into detail on how long the Canada international is expected to be sidelined.

“We have to wait and see with Phonzy. Maybe we can talk about him at another press conference,” said the Bayern coach.

According to Bild, Davies will be sidelined for around two weeks, with the left-back expected to miss games against Freiburg, Slovan Bratislava, Holstein Kiel and probably Werder Bremen.

Davies has featured 25 times in all competitions for Bayern this season, racking up a goal and three assists.
