Fabian Rieder’s time in a VfB Stuttgart jersey will come to an end when the 2024-25 season finishes, BILD believes.

The Swiss international arrived on loan from Stade Rennes last summer with the Swabians securing a purchase option of €10million.

However, the 23-year-old has been left out of Sebastian Hoeness’ starting lineups since mid-December.

Even sat on the bench, Rieder has failed to see minutes as a substitute at times.

The native over Bern moved from Young Boys to the Ligue 1 club for €15million in 2023 before a loan to Stuttgart.

Although he impressed initially, Rieder has struggled to keep his place ahead of Jamie Leweling, Chris Fuhrich and Jacob Bruun-Larsen since.
