Report: Spurs highly unikely to sign Werner permanently

The 57-time German international looks increasingly unlikely to stay in the Premier League or Bundesliga, with interest growing from across the Atlantic Ocean.

Timo Werner will not sign permanently for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to the UK's Mirror tabloid.

On loan from RB Leipzig, Sky Sports believes the London club are not interested in activating the €12million purchase option.

The 28-year-old was loaned to Spurs last season which was extended into the 2024-25 campaign, but his career has stalled since.

Having been dropped from Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the UEFA Europa League knockouts, it appears Mathys Tel is the preferred option.

Tel arrived at Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich in the latest winter transfer window and has impressed since.

It doesn’t appear as if Werner has a future at RB Leipzig either, with a move to the MLS growing evermore likely
