Terzic confirms plans to rotate against Augsburg

Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic has confirmed his intention to rest some of his key players for Saturday's match against Augsburg.

After Wednesday's exhausting 1-0 Champions League semifinal first leg win over Paris Saint-Germain and with the return leg coming up on Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is looking to rotate his team for Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.

He made that clear at his pre-match press conference on Friday, where Sebastien Haller and Ramy Bensebaini were confirmed as the only absentees.

"We will definitely rotate tomorrow and are sure that we have a really good team on the pitch," Terzic said.

“We need freshness on the pitch and we also want to give chances to some of the players. The game against Paris was very physically and emotionally demanding.”

Dortmund's win over PSG clinched five Champions League spots for Germany next season, meaning their qualification is already assured with three league games remaining.

But that doesn't mean that Dortmund, who sit in fifth place, five points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig, will take the game against Augsburg lightly, Terzic emphasized.

“We won't take it easy against Augsburg. I also don't agree that there is no way up in the Bundesliga. As long as something's still theoretically possible in the Bundesliga, we'll give it our all.”
