Holstein Kiel could be without their first-choice goalkeeper when they travel to Frankfurt this weekend.

Head coach Marcel Rapp revealed at a press conference on Friday that Timon Weiner is ill and a doubt for Sunday's game.

"There is still a question mark over Timon Weiner. We'll have to see if he can recover for the weekend," said Rapp.

If Weiser is unavailable, Thomas Dähne is ready to step in, and Rapp has full confidence in the 31-year-old.

“He's an experienced player who has proven many times that he's there when he comes on. ‘Tom’ is training and is in good form. He's definitely up to the job."

Holstein Kiel will certainly be without Colin Kleine-Bekel (knee), Carl Johansson (knee), Patrick Erras (concussion), Alexander Bernhardsson (knee), Steven Skrzybski (thigh) and John Tolkin (thigh).
