After months of negotiations and speculation, the saga surrounding Joshua Kimmich's future is about to come to an end.

Both Kimmich and the Bayern Munich bosses made it clear on Wednesday that a final decision on whether or not the 30-year-old's contract will be extended beyond the end of the season will be made very soon.

And Sport Bild now reports that a decisive and final meeting on Kimmich's future will take place on Thursday.

Sporting director Christoph Freund and board member for sport Max Eberl are ready to present a contract proposal to the supervisory board, which will then decide whether or not to approve it.

After Bayern withdrew their contract offer to Kimmich, Eberl and the player are said to have reached an agreement in principle, with only the board's backing remaining.

Should the board reject the contract, there are no plans to renegotiate with Kimmich, according to the report.
