VfL Bochum managing director for sport Dirk Dufner recently revealed that all signs to Bernardo leaving VfL Bochum at the end of the season.

“He will, in all likelihood, leave us - even if we stay up. He wants to take the next step in his career, and we have to respect that,” confirmed Dufner.

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt are closing in on a deal to sign the 29-year-old defender, who will be available on a free transfer this summer.

However, fussball.news is taking a more cautious stance, reporting that while a move to Frankfurt is possible, it is by no means finalized.

The outlet claims Eintracht are still weighing multiple defensive options, with Bernardo being just one of several names on their list.

Wolfsburg, Union Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach, among others, have also been linked with the defender.
