Lutsharel Geertruida was forced off in the closing stages of RB Leipzig's 3-1 defeat to Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday.
As a result, he will miss Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
"It's not a serious injury, but he won't be able to play," Leipzig coach Marco Rose revealed at a press conference on Friday.
Rose also confirmed that Castello Lukeba, who has missed the last two matches, is "not back yet".
Benjamin Henrichs, meanwhile, is a doubt.
"He had a knock on his calf and was unwell yesterday. He was feeling a bit better this morning when we spoke on the phone, but we'll have to see how it goes," said Rose.
On the positive side for Leipzig, Lukas Klostermann should be available after shaking off a knee problem.
Long-term absentees David Raum (ankle), Xaver Schlager (knee) and Xavi Simons (ankle) remain sidelined.
