With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Oliver Burke's future at Werder remains uncertain.

While the club and the player are still in discussions over a new deal, no agreement has been reached yet, with Bild claiming that Burke has turned down two proposals from Werder.

The German tabloid reports that the main issue is that Werder have offered significantly lower wages than the €1.2 million Burke currently earns.

“We’re still in constructive talks. We’re not giving updates on the current status,” said Peter Niemeyer, Werder’s head of professional football.

Burke, 28, has become increasingly important as the season has progressed.

He has started the last seven matches and scored three goals in his past three appearances.
