Bayer Leverkusen showed no mercy against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday night, winning 3-1 at the BayArena to extend their winning streak in all competitions to 11 games.

With the win, second-placed Leverkusen kept the pressure on Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table, four points behind the leaders.

Florian Wirtz opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, putting the ball through the legs of Ko Itakura before slotting it past Moritz Nicolas.

Wirtz made it 2-0 just after the hour mark from the penalty spot after Julian Weigl handled Alejandro Grimaldo's cross.

He then then set up Patrick Schick to put the game beyond doubt, before Tim Kleindienst grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors.
