After making his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund last season, 18-year-old Kjell Wätjen has been limited to just 15 minutes of football since Nuri Sahin took over as head coach.

With Wätjen likely to want to play more, Ruhr Nachrichten suggests that VfL Bochum are exploring the possibility of signing the central midfielder on loan this winter.

Whether this would be of interest to the youngster is questionable, however, as Wätjen would have no guarantee of minutes at the relegation-threatened Bundesliga outfit.

Speaking to Magenta Sport after the 2-1 win with Borussia Dortmund's second team, Wätjen said:

“You do what you can. At the end of the day, it's Nuri [Sahin] who decides and that's all I can say.”
