After relieving Nuri Sahin of his coaching duties on Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund are now looking for a replacement.

According to Sky Germany, former Union Berlin coach Urs Fischer has emerged as a candidate.

The 58-year-old, who was sacked by the capital club in November 2023, is said to be interested in the job.

Fischer is seen as an alternative to Niko Kovac, who was quickly named as the favorite to take over.

According to Sky, Kovac would prefer to sign a contract until the end of the season with an option for one or two more seasons.

However, Dortmund are reluctant to grant him such an option, which is why they're also looking at other candidates.
