Fresh from a 4-2 win over Heidenheim, Bayern Munich continue their Champions League campaign against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

Vincent Kompany's men will make the short trip to Gelsenkirchen, with Shakhtar unable to play at home due to the war in Ukraine.

With nine points from five Champions League games, a win would be crucial to Bayern's hopes of qualifying directly for the knockout stages.

The two clubs met in the round of 16 in 2014/15, when Bayern secured progression with a 7-0 win in the second leg. It remains their joint-biggest win in the Champions League - and Shakhtar's heaviest defeat in Europe's top club competition.

Shakhtar, who have four points in the Champions League, will be hoping for a different result this time around, coming into the game on the back of a 3-1 win over Vorskla Poltava.

Goalkeeper Tymur Puzankov looks to be Shakhtar's only absentee with a knee injury.

Bayern suffered a double blow against Heidenheim when Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies picked up hamstring injuries.

Vincent Kompany's side will also be without star striker Harry Kane (hamstring), Serge Gnabry (knee) and long-term absentees Hiroki Ito (foot), Joao Palhinha (groin) and Josip Stanisic (knee).

Manuel Neuer will miss out due to a broken rib, with Daniel Peretz set to fill in for the veteran.
