Julian Nagelsmann could be left with slim pickings for goalkeeper places in his Germany squad for their upcoming Nations League match against Italy.

German tabloid BILD believe a shake-up awaits the quarter-final tie with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen out injured and Oliver Baumann yet to return to full fitness.

Alexander Nubel, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper currently on loan at VfB Stuttgart, is expected to be the first-choice option.

Ex-Arminia Bielefeld shot-stopper Stefan Ortega, who has seen more regular minutes for Manchester City lately, could be back up.

After an impressive campaign for Mainz to date, Robin Zentner may be rewarded with the third and final goalkeeper jersey.

The first leg of Germany’s tie with the Azzurri takes place on Thursday, March 20 with the return fixture on Saturday, March 23.
